I’ve just been appointed Advocacy Manager and I'm really excited to have the opportunity to work with you all. 

Only 6 days after being interviewed and I’m still getting used again to the speed of how the voluntary sector works. It’s a great feeling really. 

Over the years, I’ve worked in many different situations: nursing; teaching in various special schools; being a community worker; managing an adult placement project; a drugs worker and more recently a social worker. I’ve learnt a lot in these different roles and know that this will help me
support people positively. 

It feels the right time to move into the advocacy field having observed the many challenges and changes happening in peoples’ lives. I also have a major interest in housing issues and enjoy supporting people to develop different ways of living, including housing co-operatives and supporting informal shared living situations.

I really enjoy music and the odd pint or two. Combining the two, leads on occasions to my own unique versions of country and punk classics. I enjoy cooking different veggie meals and eating these and despite my portly appearance enjoy cycling, swimming and long distance walking. 

I live on the Wirral at present but am looking to move to a more country
setting, to fulfil my childhood ambition to grow potatoes!
