Anna and Adrian have been friends for over ten years.  Anna was a member of the original IA steering group back in 1992 and has had a number of roles since then.  These have included Treasurer, Crisis Advocate, Director of Drama and Fundraiser. 

Adrian and Anna first met at a Poetry & Pints evening in Middlewich.  Adrian had gone along with his Citizen Advocate, Gladys Taylor who was also a friend of Anna’s.  Adrian was hoping to play a few Cliff Richard tunes on his guitar.

Life has changed considerably for Adrian, from being a young man coming out of care to being a homeowner with a full time job at Somerfield.  Gladys and Adrian had always enjoyed their Partnership.  

In 2006, Gladys became ill and Adrian said “I can be your Advocate now!”.  Later that year, Gladys died and Lorraine asked Anna if she would let Adrian know.  Anna phoned Adrian and they arranged to meet that day.  Adrian said, “We can go to Crewe and choose some flowers to take round to Lorraine and Roy”.  Adrian decided that he wanted to ask Lorraine if Anna could be his new Advocate.  Adrian said, “I’ve already told Anna!”

When Adrian first became a member of IA, everyone, including Adrian, saw him as the person needing support within the Partnership.  Things changed and Adrian was the supporter in the last year of Gladys’ life.  At the start of Anna and Adrian’s Partnership, they have decided that they can help each other.
