Young Peoples' advocacy update ...

Things are going well on the Young Peoples’ Advocacy project.

The advocacy course at Lambs Grange has come to an end but we will continue to work with students. We are looking forward to starting a new project at Greenbank school in Hartford in the new school year.

We continue to provide issue based advocacy to young people across Central Cheshire and are looking for volunteers so we can set up new Citizen Advocacy Partnerships.

If you know anyone who might be interested in volunteering with young people then call or send me an email to... ypadvocacy@independent-advocacy.org.uk

Over in East Cheshire, Lucy has left to have a baby, we are pleased to welcome April on to the Young Peoples’ Advocacy project and wish Lucy the best of luck.

The current Young Peoples’ Advocacy project is funded by BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities) until April 2009. Staff and committee members from Independent Advocacy and East Cheshire Advocacy are working on plans for moving the project forwards and are researching future funding. Watch this space...
