IA - A Quality Service

Congratulations to all involved in IA - we’ve been awarded our Investor In People again!

Investor In People (IIP) is a quality award only given to organisations who look after their staff and volunteers and provide a quality service.  So, its thanks all round to those who gave up their time to talk to the IIP assessor about their experiences of IA.

After talking to 15 people and writing up her report, the assessor said IA could keep its ‘Investor In People’ award — IA was a really good organisation with many ‘strengths’. Here is some of the feedback she gave:

People said how much they enjoyed working with IA as they got lots of support from staff and each other. People believe that everyone should have the same opportunities and they care about each other.

The staff at IA are experienced and competent and so are its volunteers.

IA people feel that they are valued. They know that they can make a difference to the lives of Advocacy Partners. IA people are loyal and committed to the organisation. When people get involved, they stay involved in IA!

The business plan is now much clearer and shows what IA will do in the future to make it an even better charity.

IA is good at celebrating its work and showing exactly how it improves peoples’ lives.

IA things work effectively and it’s much more structured since the last IIP visit in 05.

As well as all these positive things, IA was given some ideas about how to continue to be a really good service: The assessor said IA should take time and really think about its future especially with its new Advocacy Manager.

This is a time of change for IA and those involved who might need extra help and support.

IA should always be looking out for opportunities and funding to give a better service. Also, though IA should mainly concentrate on what it does best - providing advocacy so people can live their own lives!
