Citizen Advocacy Update ...

WE NEED YOUR HELP

Are you interested in becoming a member of our new Citizen Advocacy Forum?

Have your say in how Citizen Advocacy is developed over the coming months. Are there things you would like to be done differently in CA?

Are there any changes that you think might make CA better?

We are looking for 10 to 12 people, who would be willing to attend the first meeting planned for the autumn.  It would be really good if both Citizen Advocates and their Citizen Advocacy Partners could attend together.

New Partnership

IA would like to welcome Mandy who has formed a new Citizen Advocacy Partnership with Beryl.

Date for your diary

The first Citizen Advocacy Forum meeting will take place on

Mon, 8 Sept, 7pm at the IA office in Northwich.

Please contact me if you’d like to be involved.

.............Stop Press............

Please note that the training day planned for 13 Sept 08 has been cancelled.

However, we hope to run a training day looking at Non Instructed Advocacy in January 2009!   More training information in the next newsletter.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are people living in your community who would greatly benefit from the support of independent volunteer Citizen Advocates, so if you, or if you know someone who can spare a few hours each month, please get in touch.

If you would like to speak up for someone with a learning disability by becoming a Citizen Advocate, contact Heather on

or at citizen.advocacy@independent-advocacy.org.uk

for a chat.
