Citizen Advocacy

Did You See ...

...Kathryn and Janet in the local Guardian recently?

Over the last few months I have been working with Francis Kindon, local area reporter for the Guardian newspaper who had agreed to write an article on volunteering and advocacy.

I think this was a really good article and our thanks go to Francis, Kathryn and Janet.

It would be nice to see regular articles featuring advocacy and volunteering in our local newspapers………who knows what might happen in the future.

Lets hope this article will encourage more people to come and volunteer at IA.

New Citizen Advocacy Partnerships

A big welcome to Carol who has formed a new Citizen Advocacy partnership with Sarah.

I am sure that Carol will be a big support for Sarah over the coming years.

Another big welcome also goes to Janet who has formed a new Citizen Advocacy Partnership with John. Janet will support John when his family are overseas.

If you would like to speak up for someone with a learning disability by becoming a Citizen Advocate, contact Heather on 01606 42688 or at citizen.advocacy@independent-advocacy.org.uk for a chat.
